Ajinkya Rahane set the county cricket on fire as he smashed his maiden century on his debut game against Nottinghamshire. His scintillating century was highly spoken regarding the standards he has set in the longest format of the game. He became the third Indian to score a century in county debut and it was indeed a memorable moment for the champion who isn”t a part of the world cup squad.
It is to be noted that Hampshire signed him after the Indian Premier League and Rahane got the NOC from the BCCI to represent the league. The Twitter handle of the county side has tweeted his marvellous innings. The video showcases Rahane wearing a numbered white jersey 6 and smashing the bowlers to nook and corner of the stadium.
Piyush Chawla and Murali Vijay were other two Indians who scored centuries on debut. Rahane just displayed his class and experience which is much needed for the Indian side ahead of the test championship. His 119 off 197 deliveries after a failure in first innings stabilized the scoreboard for the side. He is expected to feature in all the games from now for the next two months.
On the other hand, Ravi Ashwin has been signed by Notts for the rest of the season. He is expected to turn their fortunes around with his all-around abilities.
