Fabian Allen, the substitute fielder of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots took an outstanding catch in the boundary line against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League which brought him into the limelight.
Chasing 133 runs to win, in the seventeenth over West Indian batsman Jason Mohammad slogged one of Hasan Ali over the point fielder. Allen, who was fielding in the deep extra cover position made good ground on his left before diving full stretched to clutch the ball with his left hand.
Former West Indian cricketer Ian Bishop while commentating said, “I don”t want to be a person of the moment (but) that”s the best catch I”ve ever seen.”
The catch proved to be vital for the fielding team as Guyana Warriors fell short of four runs as they could manage only 26 runs from the last over.
