A poor batting display from the middle order costed the ODI series for India as England trashed them to remain the No.1 ODI side in the World.
Joe Root made his 13th International century and the second of the series. In the process, he also became the England player with maximum tons in the limited overs.
The RunOut
It is to be noted that MS Dhoni became the fourth wicketkeeper to affect 300 dismissals in ODI”s at Lord”s. Yesterday, he affected a lighting runout as he dismissed their opener James Vince for 27. Things happened in a “blink of an eye” and the batsman had no clue for his work behind the wickets.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old also reached his 10K run milestone as he joined the list of Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid. The current Indian skipper is just 300 runs away to become the fifth Indian batsman to achieve this prestigious feat.
