Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has once again hit the news for his brilliant bowling performance as he took five wickets giving away just 18 runs as the English County Championship Leader Essex got a firm grip over Yorkshire on the first day of the First Division encounter at Scarborough on Sunday.
Only in his second match of the championship, Amir’s fifer helped his team reduce the opponent to a small total of 113. In reply, Essex ended the day on 118 for five, thus gaining a lead of 75 runs.
The 25-year-old left-arm pacer after his return to the international cricket after serving a ban for five years for spot-fixing has been in good form featuring Pakistan in all three formats. He was also instrumental for Pakistan as they won the ICC Champions Trophy beating India in England last June.
