Sri Lankan batsman Munaweera was dismissed by young Kuldeep Yadav for 53 in the 12th over. It was a brilliant inning by Munaweera who looked in great hitting smashing the Indian bowlers. He came at the fall of Tharanga wicket at the score of 23. It was the great display of batting by Munaweera who scored his maiden half century in T20 format off 26 balls.
Munaweera tried to hit a big shot and it clipped the bails with the LED lights flashing out. Dickwella, Mathews went in quick succession. The hard hitting batsman scored 53 runs in 26 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Sri Lankan batsmen played with the positive attitude not allowing the Indian bowlers to settle. He came to the crease and smashed Kumar for 2 fours, then 2 sixes off Chahal bowling which put pressure on the young bowler.
It was an amazing innings by Munaweera as he played some brilliant shots and made sure that Sri Lanka reached 170 for 7 in 20 overs. The aggression from Sri Lankan batsmen was missing from the test series and ODI series which the Indian team won easily.
