Steve Smith is finally back to Rajasthan
Royals side after his exclusion from the tournament last season due to
ball-tampering scandal.
It is indeed an added bonus for the side whicb lacked the depth in the batting order the previous year. In a recent promotional show for Royals, Smith was seen describing his excitement to be back for the cash-rich league. However, he committed a silly mistake in doing so. In a slip of a tongue, Smith mentioned “I love playing here in the Big Bash (Oops, he corrects), IPL.” The batsman himself couldn”t control his laughter after saying the words.
Smith
represented Rising Pune Super Giant in 2017 where he led his team till the
finals of the tournament losing it by just one run. After serving a two year
ban from IPL, Rajasthan Royals retained him for the last edition. However, BCCI
wasn”t so keen on the inclusion of Warner and Smith who were suspended by
Cricket Australia for a year due to their involvement in the infamous
“sandpaper gate”
Rajasthan Royals start their campaign tomorrow against Kings XI Punjab at Jaipur. Both the teams will be looking forward to start the season on a winning note and it will be interesting to see who comes out on the top.
