Tammy Beaumont scored the fastest T20I century by England women batter during the 2nd T20I match of the tri-series against South Africa in the ongoing match. England women’s captain Heather Knight won the toss and decided to bat first.
Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont gave the England women a perfect start adding 147 for the first wicket in 13.1 overs. Tammy Beaumont reached her half-century off 27 balls. She then smashed South African bowlers to all parts of the ground with some clean hitting.
Tammy Beaumont played with positive intent and reached her century off 47 balls. The hard-hitting right-handed batter surpassed Wyatt century off 52 balls. Her knock helped England women post the highest ever total of 250 for 3 in 20 overs.
Before the start of tri-series including South African women, England women and New Zealand women, 7 batters scored centuries in Women’s T20Is. England Wyatt scored centuries twice, West Indies Deandra Dottin 112* against South Africa in 2010, Meg Lanning 126 against Ireland in 2014, Shandre Fritz 116* for South Africa against the Netherlands in 2010 October, Beth Mooney 117* against England in November 2017.
In her knock of 116 from 52 balls, Beaumont hit 18 fours and 4 sixes with a strike rate off 223.07. Sciver and Brunt played quick-fire knock to help England women post the highest ever women’s T20I total. Beaumont smashed the South African pacers and spinners with a lot of aggressive intent.
This was one of the best knocks by an England women batter. The pitch at Taunton was a great batting wicket and Beaumont took advantage of it. Beaumont innings was a special knock as she became the 9th batter to score a century in women’s T20I. Before this match, Beaumont highest score in T20I cricket was 82.

New Zealand women earlier today posted 216 for 1 in the first match of the tri-series. Suzie Bates scored 124 off 66 balls.
