Virat Kohli, the star Indian batsman, added another remarkable milestone to his illustrious cricket career by becoming the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs. During Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for this achievement.

Tendulkar, one of the greatest players in cricket history, had reached this feat in 623 innings. However, Kohli managed to shatter this record, accomplishing the milestone in just 594 innings, making him the first player in history to do so under 600 innings.

Fastest to 27,000 International Runs

Kohli’s exceptional achievement places him at the top of the list for the fastest to 27,000 international runs. Other cricketing legends such as Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting have also achieved this feat but took 648 and 650 innings, respectively.

Kohli’s superior consistency and performance have solidified his standing among the greats of the game. Not only did Kohli eclipse Tendulkar’s record, but he also distinguished himself as one of the finest cricket players of all time. His determination and skill continue to elevate the standards of modern cricket.

India’s Dominant Performance in Kanpur

In the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh, India’s batting lineup, led by forceful contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal (72) and KL Rahul (68), declared their first innings at 285 for nine. Virat Kohli chipped in with a fluent knock of 47 off 35 balls. Bangladesh, in response, were bowled out for 233 in their first innings.

Veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan led the Bangladesh bowling attack, claiming four wickets, supported by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who also took four wickets. India now leads by 52 runs as the match enters a critical phase.
