Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has responded to recent claims about his earnings from an Instagram post, categorically stating that the reported figures are inaccurate. Kohli, a veteran player and former captain of the Indian cricket team, took to Twitter to address the matter on Saturday, August 12.

The reports, originating from Hopper HQ, a social media marketing solutions platform, suggested that Virat Kohli ranks as the third-richest sportsperson on Instagram globally. According to the platform’s Instagram Rich List, Kohli purportedly earns an impressive sum of over Rs 11.45 crore for each post he shares on the social media platform. However, the cricketer has firmly denied the accuracy of these claims.

In his tweet, Kohli expressed his gratitude for the support and opportunities he has received in his life, but he was clear in asserting that the circulating news regarding his social media earnings is baseless. The 32-year-old sports star regularly provides glimpses of his daily life on his Instagram, including snapshots of his training routines and moments spent with his wife, Anushka Sharma, whom he married in December 2018.

Kohli is presently taking a break while the Indian cricket team competes in a five-match T20I series against the West Indies. He is expected to return to the field for India’s participation in the Asia Cup 2023, a significant cricketing event scheduled to take place later this month in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Having recently participated in Test and ODI series against the West Indies, Kohli’s performance on the cricket pitch continues to be a topic of interest.

Notably, there is anticipation surrounding his potential to become the fastest player to reach 13,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket, potentially surpassing the record set by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Furthermore, Kohli is anticipated to play a pivotal role as India gears up for the World Cup, slated to commence on October 5th.
