Senior Indian batter Virat Kohli is reportedly set to represent Delhi in their Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Railways, scheduled from January 30 to February 2. The 36-year-old last appeared in the tournament in November 2012, playing for Delhi against Uttar Pradesh.
The second phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 matches begins on January 23. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are confirmed to play in the Delhi-Saurashtra clash in Rajkot, while Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will also feature for their respective domestic teams.
However, Kohli is unlikely to participate in the Delhi-Saurashtra match. According to ESPNcricinfo, Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh has confirmed Kohli’s availability for the game against Railways later this month.

“Surprised by His Batting After Perth Hundred”- Sourav Ganguly on Virat Kohli’s BGT 2024-25 show
Kohli hit an impressive century in the second innings of the opening Test against Australia in Perth, raising expectations for a big series. However, he finished the BGT 2024-25 with just 190 runs. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly shared his surprise at Kohli’s batting after the Perth hundred, telling RevSportz:
“To me, he is the greatest white-ball player the world has seen. But I was really surprised by the way he batted in Australia after the hundred in Perth. He struggled before that here (in India), but I thought after the hundred in Perth, it would be a big series for him.”
“But it happens. I think every player has his weaknesses and strengths, but what matters is how you adapt to your weaknesses as you play great cricket over a period of time. I still feel there is a lot of cricket left in Virat Kohli,” Ganguly went on to add in support of the senior Indian batter.
Kohli’s next international appearance will be in the home ODI series against England. He is also part of India’s 15-member provisional squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.
