Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis is anticipated to step down from his role as Mohsin Naqvi’s advisor on cricket affairs at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Waqar was appointed to the job following the rejection of other notable individuals, such as Wasim Akram, on account of personal obligations and workload issues. Similar circumstances probably led to Waqar’s resignation, as he might be having trouble juggling his obligations with his other commitments.
Waqar advised the PCB chairman on cricket-related issues when he was in close collaboration with him. Following his resignation, the PCB might select someone else with more experience for the advisory position. Waqar made a tough decision to resign, and his contributions to Pakistan cricket as a player and advisor are appreciated.

In barely a few days after being appointed, former Pakistani cricket player Waqar Younis will leave his position as PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi‘s advisor on cricket affairs. An employment posting for this position was made public after his most recent hire. PCB will probably designate a different person in his stead going forward.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Waqar had held a news conference soon after Waqar was appointed. But for a few days now, the former cricket player hasn’t been at work. Waqar is reportedly quite frustrated with certain officials’ reluctance to work with him, notably those in the Department of International Cricket.
Waqar’s choice, meanwhile, is unrelated to Pakistan’s recent defeat to Bangladesh in the Rawalpindi Test. Waqar may serve as a mentor for a side participating in the Champions Cup, which starts next month.
