Wasim Jaffer Shuts Down Michael Vaughan After ‘MI Better Than India’ Tweet

Wasim Jaffer Michael Vaughan

Former Team India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has once again shut down former England skipper Michael Vaughan following his Mumbai Indians better than Team India tweet during the first T20I between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Incidentally, the visitors thrashed Virat Kohli & Co by eight wickets to go 1-0 up in the five-match series in the lead-up to the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to take place later this year.

Meanwhile, England outplayed India on all fronts to secure a convincing win. Winning the toss, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood unleashed brute pace against Indian batters. They were reduced to 22 for three at the end of the Powerplay overs from where they never really recovered. Shreyas Iyer’s majestic 67-run knock powered India to 123 runs but it was not enough to seal them a victory.

England got off to a swift start with Jason Roy and Jos Buttler adding 72 runs for the first wicket. India did strike twice denying Roy a well-deserved fifty but No.1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow took their side home in just 15.3 overs. Michael Vaughan, who is known for his controversial tweets, once again stirred controversy during the course of the game stating that IPL franchise Mumbai Indians are a better side than India.
