Wasim Jaffer’s Twitter account is fast becoming one of the most popular accounts on the social media platform. Since the IPL, the former India batsman has not shied away from sharing extremely witty and out of the box memes. Yesterday after team India was facing heat for their extremely poor over rate, Jaffer gave a fitting reply to all the taunts.
The ODI match between India and Australia was part of the ODI super league. As per the ICC guidelines, a team has to finish the 50 overs in three hours and 30 mins which are 210 minutes to be specific. However, Virat Kohli’s men had a shocking over rate and they complete their 50 overs in 246 minutes that had everyone scratching their heads.

Now the Indian captain Virat Kohli is expected to cope a penalty and get a warning from the ICC. Considering the ODI super league rules a team is fined one point for every delayed over if they are unable to complete their quota of 50 overs in the required time. This led to several statisticians on Twitter taking a dig at Team India and reminding everyone about the super league rules.
Nevertheless this poor over rate of India will have absolutely no implication on their qualification for the 2023 world cup. Wasim Jaffer summed it up brilliantly and made everyone aware that India are the hosts of the next world cup and they will automatically qualify as the hosts.
“Being hosts we’ve already qualified for 2023 WC so in short”, Tweeted Jaffer with a photo of a popular dialogue from a Hindi movie which read, ‘Humko ghanta farq nahi padta’, which had the Twitteratis in splits the comments section.

Coming back to things on the field India will have to get their act together in the second ODI against Australia. The visitors looked rusty in the opening encounter as Australia registered an easy win by 66 runs. The second ODI between India and Australia will be once again played at SCG on Sunday.
