[WATCH]- A Fan Breaches Security To Meet MS Dhoni During The GT vs CSK IPL 2024 Match

During the IPL 2024 match between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 10, a fan climbed over the barricades and entered the ground to meet his cricketing idol, MS Dhoni.

Wherever Dhoni plays, he attracts a large and devoted fan following. The stadium was filled with fans adorned in yellow jerseys, showing their support for Dhoni, who may be playing his final match at this venue.

In the closing moments of the game, a fan breached security to approach Dhoni on the field. The former CSK captain playfully evaded the fan before allowing him to touch his feet.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the initial instance of fans breaching security to reach out to their beloved cricketer, Dhoni. You can watch the clip here:

CSK suffers a 35-run defeat despite a late cameo from MS Dhoni

The wicketkeeper-batsman delivered a late surge, remaining unbeaten on 26 runs off 11 balls, featuring one boundary and three sixes. Nonetheless, his efforts fell short as his team ended up 35 runs shy of the target.

In their innings, the Gujarat Titans, last year’s finalists, posted a formidable total of 231/3 in 20 overs, propelled by centuries from openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. They amassed a partnership of 210 runs for the opening wicket, the highest in IPL history.

Sudharsan scored 103 runs off 51 balls, while the GT captain contributed 104 runs off 55 deliveries. In response, the Super Kings’ pursuit of the target appeared bleak from the start. They found themselves at 10/3 within 2.5 overs, but Daryl Mitchell (63) and Moeen Ali (56) then formed a vital partnership.

However, Mohit Sharma’s dismissals of both set batsmen, along with the in-form Shivam Dube, disrupted Chennai’s run-chase. Despite the loss, the Chennai Super Kings remain in fourth place in the table with 12 points from as many games.
