[WATCH]- “Abbe Sar Mein Kuch Hai?”: Rohit Sharma Frustrated By Wide Delivery In BGT 3rd Test

India captain Rohit Sharma’s comical expression of frustration was picked up by the stump mic on Day 3 (Monday, December 16) of the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane.

After Akash Deep bowled a wide delivery outside the off-stump while Alex Carey was batting, the 37-year-old was annoyed and remarked, “Abe sar mein kuch hai? (Is there anything in your brain?).”

The incident occurred during the 114th over of Australia’s first innings when the Bihar-born pacer’s delivery missed the pitch, with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant diving full-length to stop it from reaching the boundary. The hosts ran two byes, and umpire Richard Illingworth signaled it as a wide.

The 28-year-old had bowled for more than 20 overs on Day 2, repeatedly beating the Australian batters but failing to take a wicket. Deep, who replaced Harshit Rana for the third Test, finally claimed his first wicket of the innings, dismissing Alex Carey for 70.

Rohit Sharma and team under pressure as Australia scores 445 in 3rd BGT 2024-25 Test

With Australia piling up 445, led by centuries from Steve Smith and Travis Head, Rohit Sharma’s side faces significant pressure. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood made early breakthroughs, taking three wickets before rain forced an early lunch.

Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, while Hazlewood had Virat Kohli caught behind by Alex Carey. At 34-3 after 12 overs, India will rely on KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Rohit Sharma to rescue the innings.

India won the first Test in Perth by 295 runs, but Australia responded with a 10-wicket victory in the second. Due to rain in Brisbane, the third Test may end in a draw, with the fourth Test starting on December 26 at the MCG.
