India opener Abhishek Sharma looked in fine form during the practice session, playing several confident and powerful shots. This comes ahead of the Men in Blue’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Pakistan, which is set to be played later today, Sunday, February 15, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The 25-year-old had missed India’s second Group A fixture against Namibia on February 12 in Delhi after suffering a stomach infection. However, in a timely boost for the team, the left-hander returned to action on Saturday, February 14.
He displayed his power in the nets with several clean strikes, including shots against spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy.

“He’ll Haunt You Again” – Harbhajan Singh Backs Abhishek Sharma Before Pakistan Clash
As the excitement around the India–Pakistan showdown intensifies, former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir labeled Abhishek Sharma a “slogger” during an appearance on the TV show Haarna Mana Hai.
Reacting to the remark on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh defended Abhishek, calling him a top-quality batter. He added that if Abhishek finds his rhythm in the Colombo clash, he could end up troubling Pakistan in their dreams for the next six months.
“Abhishek is a top-class batsman who has proved himself in world cricket. Tomorrow, you better watch out. If Abhishek stays at the crease, for the last 4-5 months, he has already been in your dreams. If he goes big tomorrow, then for the next six months, he will be in your dreams again.”
