[WATCH]- Akash Deep Dismisses Nitish Reddy With A Stunner In The 2024 Duleep Trophy Match

Nitish Reddy‘s return to competitive cricket after recovering from an injury did not go as hoped. On Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B, held on Thursday, September 5, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Akash Deep dismissed the right-handed batter for a golden duck with a brilliant delivery.

The wicket fell on the third ball of the 36th over, when Akash Deep bowled a length delivery that veered away slightly, surprising Nitish Reddy and clipping the top of the off-stump. This dismissal marked Akash Deep’s second consecutive wicket off two balls.

Nitish Reddy failed to score, and his dismissal left India B struggling at 80/5 after 35.3 overs.

Musheer Khan remains solid at one end, but wickets continue to fall at the other

The Indias B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a 33-run opening partnership from 78 balls after they were requested to bat first. He was dismissed by Avesh Khan after scoring 13 runs. Easwaran was very much at ease until he made an error in concentration that helped him edge a ball outside off-stump which Dhruv Jurelexpertly caught behind the stumps.

Jaiswal managed only 30 runs off 59 balls before being bowled out, failing to turn his start into something serious. Musheer Khan, who came in at No. 3 appeared solid but lost partners on the other end, among them his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan who had problems and was out for nine runs scored from thirty-five deliveries.

Rishabh Pant returned to red-ball cricket with a disappointing performance as he got out on Akash Deep’s ball for just seven runs; on the very next ball, Akash Deep also took off Nitish Reddy for a golden duck. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar was unfortunate enough to get run out when batting as a non-striker for nought.
