Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh vented his accumulated frustration on Riyan Parag after dismissing him in the second round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy in Anantapur on Thursday, September 12. Singh induced the right-handed batter to edge an away swinger for a simple slip catch and then delivered a heated send-off with a loud shout.
Parag was performing exceptionally well against a struggling Arshdeep, who came in as the first change bowler when India ‘A’ had lost two wickets in the first 45 minutes of the match. However, Arshdeep initially struggled to find his rhythm, allowing Parag to capitalize by hitting him for three boundaries in four balls.
Parag also struck another four off the second ball of the 17th over. On the final delivery of the over, Arshdeep bowled a full and wide delivery, which Parag attempted to drive strongly away from his body, resulting in a thick edge that was caught by Shreyas Iyer.

Arshdeep fell victim to some bad fortune too. For him, the red ball ceased to swing as he arrived only after the opening 10 overs. The new ball was taken by Harshit Rana and Vidwath Kaverappa, who bowled well in this match, taking two wickets each, while the former did not get any swing or seam movement nor maintained any consistency. However, he did not concede runs either.
India ‘A’ faces difficulties following the dismissal of Riyan Parag
Arshdeep came close to claiming another wicket right after when Shashwat Rawat got a bottom edge which was taken by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. He was the only one who made an appeal, but Shreyas Iyer turned down the idea of reviewing it.
However, soon after this India A lost Tilak Verma and Rawat to Saransh Jain and Rana respectively. Kumar Kushagra and Shams Mulani remained firm at the crease at the end of the session with 115/5 on board.
