Pakistan captain Babar Azam looked troubled by Khurram Shehzad’s impressive spell during Pakistan’s net session ahead of their series against Bangladesh. Pakistan are gearing up for an intense two-Test series against Bangladesh, set to begin on August 21, with matches scheduled in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
The team has named a formidable squad, opting for a pace-heavy lineup with five quick bowlers and just one frontline spinner, Abrar Ahmed. Batter Saud Shakeel has been appointed as the new vice-captain, emphasizing the team’s blend of youth and experience.
A recent net session in Rawalpindi saw the emergence of a video that captivated viewers with an explosive bowling display by Khurram Shahzad which challenged some of Pakistan’s finest batsmen including Babar Azam.
The clip shows Shahzad deploying a masterly outswinger that almost clips Babar’s off-stump, leaving him exposed and just missing the wood. The next delivery was however into Babar on the box without warning after a sharp back-off-a-length strike came after this.
Though Shahzad checked on him after this, there was more to come for Babar. An ambitious drive saw him bowled off the very next ball completing what had been an uphill task for Pakistan’s T20I skipper.

According to Masood, “We have not been able to discover an ideal method of utilizing our home conditions and gaining victories.”
This remark came during a podcast by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) where he spoke on his country’s disappointing record in test format over recent years. In 2022, the team lost the home series against England and Australia along with playing a draw of 1-1 against New Zealand during their visit thereafter.
“Unless you can win at home, you cannot hope to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship,” he added.
