[WATCH]- Ben Duckett Blasts Consecutive Fours To Hit Brilliant 100 In AUS vs ENG 2025

England opener Ben Duckett delivered a stellar performance with the bat against Australia in their Champions Trophy 2025 opener at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, February 22. The left-hander brought up his century in style, striking consecutive boundaries off Spencer Johnson.

This marked Duckett’s third ODI hundred and his second against Australia. He reached the milestone in 95 balls, with his innings featuring 11 fours and a six. The landmark came in the 32nd over of England’s innings.

Facing a short delivery from Johnson, Duckett made room and guided the ball towards the covers using the toe end of his bat with strong bottom-hand power.  He then followed it up with a well-timed straight drive off another short ball to complete his century.

He pumped his fists in the air, then removed his helmet and raised his bat as his teammates in the dressing room rose to applaud. You can watch the video here:

The Kent-born batter has shown solid form in ODIs, scoring 32, 65, and 34 in the recently concluded three-match series against India. Ben Duckett remains a key player for England’s prospects in the Champions Trophy.

Duckett and Root revive England after early setbacks vs Australia

A solid batting performance from Ben Duckett and Joe Root helped England recover from 43/2 against Australia in the ongoing Champions Trophy match. The pair stitched a crucial 158-run partnership for the third wicket. Root played a steady knock of 68 off 78 balls, hitting four boundaries.

At the time of writing, England were 219/4 after 34.1 overs, with Duckett (108 off 103) still at the crease. Skipper Jos Buttler has joined him in the middle. Harry Brook (3) was the latest to depart, falling to a stunning catch by Alex Carey.

Carey had earlier taken another brilliant catch to dismiss opener Phil Salt (10). Ben Dwarshuis and Adam Zampa have been Australia’s standout bowlers, picking up two wickets each.
