Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer posted a video on social media on Tuesday, November 5, showcasing his batting practice in the indoor nets. The Mumbai player missed the Round 3 match of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy against Tripura, which ended in a draw.
The 29-year-old is set to return for the Round 4 match against Odisha, beginning Wednesday, November 6, at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, Mumbai. In the video shared on Instagram, the right-handed batter can be seen working hard in the nets, with the post captioned:

Shreyas Iyer delivered a brilliant performance in the Round 2 match against Maharashtra, scoring his first century of the season and his 14th in first-class cricket. He made 142 runs off 190 balls, hitting 12 boundaries and four sixes. Mumbai cruised to a commanding nine-wicket win in the match.

The Mumbai cricketer made his debut for India in 2017 during a T20I match against New Zealand. Since then, he has established himself in the national side, playing 51 T20I matches and accumulating 1,104 runs. His T20I career includes eight half-centuries, showcasing his consistency with the bat in the shortest format of the game.
The 29-year-old’s most recent outing for India came in an away ODI series against Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, it was a challenging series for Iyer, as he could only manage 38 runs across the three matches he played. Despite his efforts, Sri Lanka emerged victorious, winning the series 2-0, with one of the games ending in a tie.
Iyer has played 62 ODIs, scoring 2,421 runs at an average of 47.47, with 18 fifties and five centuries. He was India’s third-highest run-scorer in the 2023 ODI World Cup, finishing with 530 runs in 11 innings, including three fifties and two centuries, as the team ended as runners-up.
The middle-order batter has also appeared in 14 Test matches for India, accumulating 811 runs at an average of 36.86, with five fifties and one century.
