Team India bowlers finally managed to dominate the New Zealand batters on day two of the second Test at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were on the money as the visitors secured a seven-run first-innings lead. Meanwhile, India skipper Virat Kohli looked animated and hurled abuses at the New Zealand crowd.

Starting at an overnight score of 63 for no loss, Umesh Yadav struck in the third over of the day to draw the first blood removing Tom Blundell. Capitalising on the momentum, Jasprit Bumrah sent back Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson to have the host at 60 for two. India held the rhythm as Mohammed Shami started making inroads as India finished the first season grabbing five wickets.

Meanwhile, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner frustrated India with a 51-run ninth-wicket stand but New Zealand fell seven runs short of taking the first-innings lead at Tea in Christchurch. The Kiwis folded for 235 with Mohammed Shami picking up four and Jasprit Bumrah bagging three. Jamieson was the last man to depart for 49 as the hosts recovered well to fight their way back in the game.

As Indian bowlers started to dominate the game, Virat Kohli came back to his usual manner. The ever-animated Kohli, who is known for wearing his heart on his sleeves, let the emotions get the better of him as he was seen telling New Zealand to shut up. The incident took place after Virat Kohli took a sharp catch off the bowling of Mohammed Shami to send back Henry Nicholls.

There were doubts regarding the catch but Virat Kohli was sure about it right from the onset. When the decision finally went in his favour, he could not hide his excitement. During that time, he also made sure to give it back to New Zealand fans as he asked them to shut up in an animated manner.

Meanwhile, despite losing three wickets, India have extended the lead to 78 runs and will hope to pose a big total against New Zealand as they hope to finish the series on level terms. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who have had mild outings in the series so far will look to make it big and deliver the goods for their side.
