Ahead of the clash between India women and England women, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has tweeted a video showcasing the practice drills that the Indian team has gone through. The two teams will clash in the first ODI at the County Ground in Bristol.
Following the one-off Test that ended in a pulsating draw, the squads will clash in a limited-overs series. It consists of 3 ODI’s followed by 3 T20I’s, with each game taking place at a different ground.
After an intense fielding session, India Women began its preparations with a few batting drills. Shafali Verma engaged in hitting the ball with one hand off the willow, helped by the batting coach. Opener Smriti Mandhana had a good time while being focused in the nets. Skipper Mithali Raj and all-rounder Deepti Sharma were having a go with the bat as well.
Harmanpreet Kaur is seen rolling her arm over, although it’s unknown whether she’ll bowl in the match. Veterans Jhulan Goswami and Shikha Pandey were in full rhythm, with ace spinner Poonam Yadav looking to get back into her wicket-taking mojo.
On its official Twitter handle, the BCCI tweeted:
“The girls are ready. Tune in for #TeamIndia’s first WODI against England”

Shafali Verma all set for ODI debut for India Women
The previous time the two teams played in England, the hosts came out on top of an exhilarating clash in the final of the 2017 Women’s ODI World cup. Hence, this series will see India Women trying to hit back against their much-fancied opponents.
Shafali Verma, who was 13 at the time of the World Cup loss, will now be making her ODI debut. She had a terrific time in the middle on her Test debut, scoring fifties in both the innings of the match.
