The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai witnessed a rollback in years when Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag walked out to bat against West Indies Legends in the lung-opener of Road Safety World Series. The India Legends didn’t disappoint the huge turnouts as they defeated their West Indies counterpart by seven wickets.
Batting first, West Indies Legends were off to a great start with Daren Ganga and Shivnarine Chanderpaul stitching a 40-run partnership for the opening wicket. Captain Brian Lara came to bat at No. 3 and played a couple of delightful strokes before departing for 17. Chanderpaul slammed 61 runs off just 41 balls whereas, Tino Best played an entertaining cameo of 11 not-out off five balls to take his side to 150 in the stipulated 20 overs.

While the total seemed like a tough chase, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar showed glimpses of their past adding 83 runs for the first wicket belting West Indies bowlers. Although Tendulkar got out scoring 37 runs, Sehwag amassed 74 runs including 11 boundaries and alongside Mohammad Kaif walked passed the target convincingly. Meanwhile, it was another incident which went viral on social media.
In the video shared by Irfan Pathan, Sachin Tendulkar gave Pathan’s son a heartwarming moment ‘he will realize when he grows up’ after the India Legends team’s victory over West Indies Legends in the Road Safety World Series match on Saturday. In the clip, Pathan’s son was seen having fun with the legendary cricketer while boxing with him.
