Team India cricketer Ishan Kishan was involved in a horrible mix-up with veteran batter Virat Kohli during the third ODI against New Zealand on Tuesday, January 24 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. As a result, he had to walk back to the hut disappointed. Team India eventually put on 386 runs on the board in the first innings.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got the team off to a cracking start. They put on a 200-plus runs partnership for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma slammed 101 runs off 85 deliveries, with nine boundaries and six sixes. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill was dismissed for 112 runs off 78 deliveries, at a strike rate of 143.59. After the duo’s dismissal, Ishan Kishan joined Virat Kohli at the crease.

They tried to continue the batting onslaught, but a bad mix-up at the crease ended their partnership. In the thirty-fifth over, Ishan Kishan tapped Jacob Duffy’s delivery to cover and called for a quick run. Virat Kohli was a bit hesitant but ran on his partner’s call. However, Ishan decided to turn after running back halfway down the wicket. He tried to get back in the crease, but Virat Kohli was already in. Kishan was dismissed for seventeen runs off twenty-four deliveries.
