The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) used its social media platform to convey a heartwarming video of team members presenting and praising the T20 World Cup 2024 victory internationally a chartered flight coming back home.

Each member grab an occasion to unpack the trophy, with some even kissing it earlier than cautiously obtaining it back in place at some point of the Air India flight from Barbados to New Delhi. Rohit Sharma’s team successfully achieved the long-awaited goal of securing a World Cup title after more than a decade, evident from the visible joy on the players’ faces.

The BCCI also posted a video showing players dancing joyfully with the World Cup trophy and holding it with immense happiness during their flight.

All the players were jubilant about bringing the trophy home, and each celebrated in their own special manner during their unforgettable flight.

The Men in Blue made history by becoming the first team to clinch a T20 World Cup title without facing a single defeat. India dominated the group stages and Super Eights with seven straight victories before defeating England convincingly by 68 runs in the semi-final.

In the thrilling final match, they overcame a strong South African team to secure a seven-run victory and claim their second T20 World Cup title (the first was in 2007).

Team India is scheduled for a packed celebration agenda on July 4th

Following arriving in New Delhi on Thursday morning (July four), the team members of India will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence around 11 AM IST. After this, they’ll catch another flight to Mumbai for a victory parade in the nighttime.

The parade is set to commence from Marine Drive and conclude at Wankhede Stadium at approximately 5 PM IST. Indian captain Rohit Sharma used his X/Twitter account the day before the parade, urging fans to join in.

“India, We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards. It’s coming home,” Rohit wrote.

Following the parade, the Indian players, coaches, and support staff will receive accolades at Wankhede Stadium. Additionally, they will be awarded a â‚ą125 crore cash prize, as stated by BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
