[WATCH]- Jack Leaning’s Exceptional Reflex Catch Denies Rob Jones His Half-Century In County Championship Division One

On Friday, August 23, Jack Leaning took an amazing untouchable dips catch in the slips to dismiss Rob Jones in County Championship Division One. The remarkable catch happened during the Kent vs Worcestershire match in the second day.

The dismissal took place during Worcestershire’s first innings when they were 67 overs into their inning. Joey Evison bowled a full-length ball on off and Jones ended up edging it towards the second slip. Leaning completed his dart with outstretched arms diving right – leaving everyone dumbfounded.

With the help of six boundaries, Rob Jones scored 49 runs off 107 balls before Kent reduced Worcestershire to 201/4.

Worcestershire gains the lead over Kent in the County Championship match

A clinical all-round display has helped Worcestershire take a lead over Kent in the County Championship match on Day 2. Kent were bundled out for 171 in 49.5 overs in their first innings. Joe Leach starred with the ball, returning with figures of 6/52, while Adam Finch bagged two wickets. Tom Taylor and James Hartstone bagged one apiece.

In the match against Kent, Tawanda Muyeye was his team’s best batsman, making 56 runs from 64 balls including 11 boundaries. The others who made contributions were Akeem Jordan, Grant Stewart and Ben Compton who scored 26 (34), 20 (38) & 20 (88) runs respectively. Meanwhile, Worcestershire were on 237 out of 4 at 37 overs with Adam Hose and his captain Brett D’Oliveira batting.

They are 66 runs clear of Kent. Greth Roderick was the top scorer with 63 off 154 balls including eight boundaries. Rob Jones started brightly for 49 but did not carry on to make a big score; Jake Libby could only manage 30 off 82 deliveries before he was dismissed. Two wickets have fallen to Akeem Jordan so far being the leading Kent bowlers.

Both Kent and Worcestershire after ten games each, only have one victory in their name this season hence they occupy position ten and nine respectively on the points table.
