[WATCH]- Jamie Overton Warns Finn Allen Of A Non-Striker Run-Out, Leading To A Heated Exchange

Adelaide Stars’ bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton issued a warning to Finn Allen for a non-striker’s end run-out during the Big Bash League (BBL) match against Perth Scorchers at Adelaide Oval. Despite breaking the stumps, Overton clarified to both the umpire and Allen that it was just a warning this time.

The incident occurred in the eighth over of Perth’s innings when Overton noticed Allen quickly leaving the non-striker’s end. Though Overton initially called it a warning for the Kiwi batter, the two later exchanged heated words. You can watch the video here:

Finn Allen remains unbeaten on a half-century, leading Perth Scorchers to a commanding victory

Allen remained unfazed by the earlier incident, swiftly reaching a quick-fire half-century before being dismissed by Brendan Doggett for a 23-ball 50. The Strikers’ batting fell short, with only D’arcy Short and captain Alex Ross reaching double figures in the top five.

Doggett (47*) and Cameron Boyce (29*) provided crucial lower-order contributions, forming an unbeaten 84-run partnership off 60 balls to push the total to 142. In response, Adelaide’s Henry Thornton struck twice in the powerplay, dismissing Matty Hurst (3) and Aaron Hardie (2) cheaply.

However, Allen and Connolly rebuilt with an important 84-run stand, bringing the chase back on track. After Allen’s departure, captain Ashton Turner took charge, finishing unbeaten on 35 off 18 balls, including two sixes and a boundary, to guide Perth to victory.

Connolly was named Player of the Match for his 48 not out, showcasing remarkable composure under pressure. The Scorchers will next face Sydney Thunder on January 3, while the Strikers play the Melbourne Renegades on January 2 in what promises to be an exciting contest.

Both teams are eager to continue their strong performances as the competition intensifies.
