The second day of the fifth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test continued in Sydney with Indian fast bowlers stepping up, especially Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah and Virat Kohli were involved in a verbal altercation with Australia opener Sam Konstas as the Indian players wanted to intimidate the young batsman through sledging.

India bowlers were really on the hunt in the morning session, which saw the Australian team losing four of their players. Bumrah, especially, was charged up, he resumed his showdown with Konstas on the field. Kohli came into the crease and increased the drama of the meeting.

The words used also helped in making the match appear more interesting since the Indian team seeks to level the series. It was really a great cruising when the Indian bowlers gave their best cricket performance during the later part of the Sydney crowd.

The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah  was prepared to react after the 19-year-old had gone under Bumrah’s skin with a sledge the day before. Bumrah had already made it clear to the young Australian starter that he meant business before the on-field fireworks. Early on, Bumrah’s deliveries had attempted to hit Konstas hard outside the boundary, but he had absorbed a few hits to the body.

During the opening session of Day 2, Virat Kohli, who is often outspoken on the field, made fun of Konstas’ cautiousness by saying, “Yes Bumrah, there’s your man now,” as he settled into a defensive stance.

Since Konstas was unable to hit him hard and ended up mishitting him a lot, Jasprit Bumrah chose to participate in the mocking after his spell. “He’s playing like a number 10,” he said, implying that the young batter was swinging forcefully but lacked proper technique.
