Jasprit Bumrah, Team India‘s pace spearhead, missed out on his third fifer on Day 4 of the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Bumrah had Nathan Lyon caught at slip, but the on-field umpire called a no-ball, denying him the well-deserved fifer.
The incident took place in the 82nd over and on the final delivery of the day. Lyon played a shot with hard hands, edging the ball to KL Rahul at third slip. After Rahul caught it in an unorthodox manner, the umpire signaled a front-foot no-ball, leaving Bumrah visibly frustrated.
To make things worse, the 31-year-old forced another edge off Lyon’s bat, which went through the slip cordon to the boundary on the final ball.

The Ahmedabad-born pacer turned the game in the second session after Mohammed Siraj dismissed Steve Smith. With Travis Head at the crease, Rohit Sharma brought Bumrah back, and the star bowler quickly removed the left-hander, followed by the wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey.
Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon frustrated India by resisting Bumrah and his teammates
With India reducing Australia to 91/6 at one point, they smelled an opportunity to take control of the game. However, the hosts steadied the ship as Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins put together a 57-run stand, taking the lead past 250.
India struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc, seemingly on the brink of batting again. Ravindra Jadeja then had Cummins caught at slip for 41, leaving Australia at 173/9 with a lead of only 278.
However, Lyon and Scott Boland handled everything India threw at them, occasionally finding boundaries. Their resistance helped Australia extend their lead to 333, with an unbeaten last-wicket partnership of 57.
