[WATCH]- Jasprit Bumrah Succeeds In Dismissing Virat Kohli Once More In The IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) standout Virat Kohli had an unusual off-day with the bat in the IPL 2024 season against the Mumbai Indians (MI). He was dismissed for just three runs off nine balls at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 11.

Kohli, who has been in excellent form this season, faced difficulty in timing the ball during his brief innings. MI captain Hardik Pandya introduced Jasprit Bumrah into the attack in the third over, and after a few close calls, the star fast bowler eventually dismissed Kohli.

Virat Kohli attempted to take on Bumrah by aiming to hit a well-pitched delivery towards deep mid-wicket. However, the ball swung back, caught Kohli’s inside edge, and Ishan Kishan secured a remarkable catch diving to his left.

Jasprit Bumrah and his Mumbai Indians teammates celebrated with joy, successfully preventing the current Orange Cap holder from getting a flying start once again.

Here’s the video:

In 16 innings against Kohli, Bumrah has given away 140 runs but has now taken the star batsman’s wicket for the fifth time. He belongs to the select group of bowlers worldwide who consistently trouble a formidable batsman like Kohli.

MI’s pace attack causes RCB early trouble

Mumbai Indians opened their bowling with Mohammad Nabi’s off-spin. However, their trio of pacers, including Jasprit Bumrah, Gerald Coetzee, and Akash Madhwal, have been accurate thus far. RCB newcomer Will Jacks attempted to build momentum with a couple of boundaries but ultimately found Tim David at mid-on.

The visiting team relies on captain Faf du Plessis to anchor the innings and establish partnerships with Rajat Patidar and the rest of the lineup. Mumbai, meanwhile, understands the significance of taking wickets consistently.

The next game for Mumbai Indians is against Chennai Super Kings on April 14th at Wankhede Stadium.
