IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Jasprit Bumrah Dismisses Prithvi Shaw With A Stunner

During the 20th match of IPL 2024 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on April 7, 2024, Jasprit Bumrah‘s crucial dismissal of Prithvi Shaw for 66 gave Mumbai Indians the vital breakthrough they required. Abishekh Porel, who’s playing confidently, is now partnered with Tristan Stubbs at the crease.

Delhi Capitals, batting second and two down, rely on these two batsmen for a stable partnership in pursuit of 235 runs against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, MI’s bowlers are keen on securing quick wickets, with Jasprit Bumrah just two dismissals away from reaching 150 scalps in the IPL.

Earlier, strong batting performances from Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, along with impactful cameos from Tim David and Romario Shepherd, propelled Mumbai Indians to a total of 234/5 in their 20 overs against Delhi Capitals.

Prithvi Shaw bounces back with his initial half-century of the season against MI

Delhi’s batsman, Prithvi Shaw, displayed signs of returning to form by registering his maiden half-century of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season during his team’s encounter against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7.

Shaw, initially benched in Delhi’s first two matches of the IPL 2024 season, exhibited promise during the team’s pursuit of Mumbai’s 235-run target.

Following his opening partner David Warner, Shaw assumed responsibility for leading the run chase for his franchise. Shaw achieved his first fifty of IPL 2024 in a mere 31 deliveries.

Delhi’s decision to bowl first backfired as Mumbai punished their bowling attack. Shaw’s promising innings of 66(40) ended with Bumrah’s dismissal, after a solid partnership with Porel.

Despite Delhi Capitals’ poor performance against Mumbai, Shaw’s standout display offers hope for their future matches. Since joining the team in 2018, Shaw’s remarkable performances earned him a regular spot as an opening batsman for Delhi, making him one of the franchise’s standout players.

However, his form declined after a couple of challenging years, leading to him slipping down the batting order for both Delhi Capitals and the Indian national team.
