[WATCH]- Josh Inglis Hits His Second T20I Century With A Six In The AUS vs SCO 2nd T20I 2024

Australia‘s wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis celebrated his second T20I century with a powerful six during the second match of the three-game T20I series against Scotland on Friday, held at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.

This was accomplished by Inglis during his second delivery of the 18th over. A length ball was thrown by Scotland seamer Bradley Currie which was lofted powerfully by Inglis for a six over deep mid-wicket. In only 43 balls, the 29-year-old made his century; thus he ranks as the fastest T20I hundred scorer among Australians.

Inglis 103 runs out of 49 balls with seven boundaries and as many sixes recorded against him. Cameron Green scored 36 off 29 while Marcus Stoinis stayed unbeaten at 20 run-a-ball pace.

Tim David impressed towards the end scoring an astonishing 17* over seven balls; at that point, Australia had completed their innings with 196/4 with Bradley going down as Scotland’s best bowler with three wickets off 37 runs in four overs.

Indeed, Scotland had a terrible start in their pursuit of 197 losing their opening batsman, Michael Jones after just one run in the second over. In the next over, his partner George Munsey was dismissed by Xavier Bartlett after making only 19 runs from nine balls.

Brandon McMullen scored some runs from one end but was not getting any help from another side. The Scotland No.3 made 59 runs off 42 balls with four boundaries and an equal number of sixes on his account. The visitors’ Marcus Stoinis shone through the middle overs with wickets falling at regular intervals.

Ultimately Scotland were all out for 126 in 16.4 overs losing by a difference of 70 runs through Stoinis who claimed four wickets to lead Australia as their top bowler. The final match in this series will take place on Saturday September 7th.
