KL Rahul, the Indian batter, received a huge stroke of luck when he was dropped off the first ball on Day 4 (December 17) of the third Test in Brisbane. With India struggling at 51/4 in response to Australia’s 445, Aussie captain Pat Cummins bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that rose to Rahul.
The batter, still finding his rhythm early in the day, made an unnecessary shot, leading to a thick outside edge that went straight to Steve Smith at second slip. Surprisingly, Smith failed to catch the ball, which came to him at the ideal height and speed. You can watch the video here:

Rahul, who was on 33 at the time of the dropped catch, went on to score valuable runs and reached a well-deserved half-century. India, starting the day at 51/4, reached 74/4 after 23 overs with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul at the crease.
However, Rohit’s struggle continued as he was dismissed for 10 runs, caught by the wicketkeeper off a Cummins delivery.
KL Rahul was the only player who stood out on a tough Day 3 for India
With the series level at 1-1, Team India has had a tough time so far in the third Test at Brisbane. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, they allowed the hosts to score a huge 445, with centuries from Travis Head and Steve Smith. Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler for India, taking 6/76 from 28 overs.
Despite rain affecting play on Days 1 and 3, Australia’s bowlers quickly took four important top-order wickets on Day 3, putting India in trouble. Rahul fought hard, reaching 33 not out at stumps on Day 3.
Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, leaving India at 44/4 at one point.
