Virat Kohli, standing in as Team India’s captain, was visibly excited after Prasidh Krishna dismissed Marnus Labuschagne on Day 3 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar series Test (BGT) in Sydney. With Australia racing ahead in their chase of 162 for a series-winning victory, the Men in Blue were in urgent need of breakthroughs.
After Sam Konstas’ dismissal, Marnus Labuschagne faced difficulties at the crease while batting at No. 3. The right-handed batsman was struck on the elbow and narrowly avoided a few close calls before his uncertain innings ended.
Labuschagne attempted to cut and guide a length delivery from Prasidh Krishna. Despite the ample space to play the shot due to the wide delivery, he failed to execute it properly and direct the ball into the gap. You can watch the video here:

Kohli took charge of the celebrations as Australia lost their second wicket in a challenging run chase. India had been under pressure after giving away 35 runs in the first three overs, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

Kohli Leads Team as Steve Smith Follows Labuschagne Back to Pavilion
Marnus Labuschagne’s underwhelming series ended on a disappointing note. After a double failure in Perth, the pressure mounted on him. Although he responded with a determined performance in Adelaide and scored twin fifties in Melbourne, he stumbled once more in Sydney, bringing the focus back on his form.
He ends the Border-Gavaskar series with 232 runs from nine innings. Before the second innings, his average stood at 28.25, which will drop further after another disappointing performance.
After removing Marnus Labuschagne, pacer Prasidh Krishna struck again, claiming the vital wicket of Steve Smith. At Lunch on Day 3, Australia are 71-3, needing 91 more runs to win.
