[WATCH]- Kuldeep Yadav Strikes Twice In An Over On Yorkshire Debut

India spinner Kuldeep Yadav made an immediate impact in English conditions after being overlooked for the recent three-match ODI series against England led by Harry Brook. Turning out for Yorkshire in the Royal One-Day Cup 2026, the left-arm wrist-spinner claimed two wickets in the same over and returned figures of 2/39 to help his side register a thrilling two-wicket victory over Glamorgan.

Making his debut for Yorkshire following his recent signing with the county, Kuldeep impressed from the outset. He kept the batters under pressure throughout his spell, conceding little while delivering 41 dot balls before striking twice in his final over.

Using his trademark flight and guile, Kuldeep tempted the lower-order batters into attacking him late in the innings. Alex Horton fell while attempting a slog sweep, only managing a top edge that was safely caught in the deep. Two balls later, Jamie McIlroy was dismissed for a two-ball duck, giving Kuldeep a brilliant double strike.

The 31-year-old remained on the sidelines during India’s 1-2 ODI series defeat to England, with the team management opting for greater batting depth by backing all-rounders Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube.

Even in the series decider at Lord’s, where India fielded five frontline bowlers, Kuldeep was overlooked as the visitors preferred a four-man pace attack, with Axar Patel serving as the lone specialist spinner.

Kuldeep Yadav To Play Royal One-Day Cup Before India Test Return

Kuldeep Yadav‘s initial stint with Yorkshire will see him feature in five Royal One-Day Cup matches until August 2. He is then set to link up with the Indian squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning on August 15.

After completing national duty, the left-arm wrist-spinner will return to Yorkshire for the second leg of his stint, featuring in the county’s final three matches of the County Championship season.
