Sri Lanka spinner Lasith Embuldeniya bowled a special delivery to get rid of Virat Kohli in the 1st Test between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali on Friday. Kohli, who is playing his 100th Test match looked determined to score a century until then but was bamboozled by the stunner of a delivery.
Kohli looked in sublime touch with the bat ever since he came out running from the dressing room after Mayank Agarwal’s dismissal. He played some gorgeous looking shots during his 45 runs knock aided with five boundaries.
Just when things were looking set for Virat Kohli to end the century drought on his 100th Test, Lasith Embuldeniya bowled a jaffa to crash Kohli’s stumps.
It was a flighted delivery that landed on the good length spot and Virat Kohli was hanging back to defend. He had the line covered but the ball spun away which beats the outside edge and hits the top of the off-stump.
The length is what Embuldeniya got right on that occasion. It was neither full nor short and Kohli tried to play it off the backfoot and paid the price. Kohli stands there in disbelief before making the long walk back. The crowd are stunned but gather themselves quickly to applaud Kohli off the field.

Speaking of the game, India lost the well set Hanuma Vihari moments after Virat Kohli walked back into the pavilion. The batsman from Andhra will be disappointed for failing to convert the fifty into a hundred.
India are at 199/4 at the tea with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer once again doing the rebuilding job.
