Shivam Mavi was hit for three consecutive sixes by Australian all rounder Marcus Stoinis. However on the 4th ball, Stoinis couldn’t connect it properly and got out. Then Jason Holder joined the party and he also smoked two sixes on the last two balls of the 19th over.
Shivam Mavi became the 4th bowler in the history of the IPL to concede 5 sixes in an over. Mavi once last year too conceded 29 runs in the 20th over of the match. The young pacer has given poor returns in the death overs so far in Indian Premier League.
I was thinking about batting deep but failed to do so-Deepak Hooda
LSG batter Deepak Hooda played an impactful knock of 41 runs in 27 balls which helped LSG post a good total of 176 runs. Deepak Hooda in the mid match interview, called this pitch a slow one. He believes that the wicket is two paced and it’s tough to hit back of length deliveries.
“The wicket is on the slower side. I feel that we have got a good total on the board. I was thinking about batting deep but failed to do so, will try to do it next time. The back of a length delivery is not coming on, both change of pace and straight balls. Our plan was to bat with intent even when we lose wickets.” said Deepak Hooda.
