Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) pace sensation and Team India‘s newest addition, Mayank Yadav, was spotted bowling in the nets ahead of the T20I series against Bangladesh, starting October 6 in Gwalior. Alongside Mayank, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh were also seen practicing, with the BCCI sharing a video of the session on social media.
At 22, Mayank is one of three uncapped players in the squad, along with Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana. He made a name for himself during IPL 2024 by consistently bowling over 135 mph, although an injury limited him to just four matches, where he took seven wickets at an average of less than 14.

“I just visited the BCCI website and saw that my name was listed”- Mayank Yadav reacts to his selection
In an interview with The Times of India, Mayank shared that he learned about his selection by visiting the BCCI website. He explained:
“I wasn’t initially aware of the selection, but I saw my friends getting congratulatory calls. After checking the BCCI website, I realized my name was listed. Once I hung up, memories flooded back—from my first day at Sonnet Club to the four anxious months I spent at the NCA recovering from persistent injuries.”
India will host Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series, starting with the first match in Gwalior on October 6. The second T20I will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 9, and the final match will be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 12. Notably, Gwalior will be hosting its first international match since 2010.
In their last T20I series, India defeated Sri Lanka 3-0, marking the first assignment for the newly appointed T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav. Bangladesh will aim for at least one victory in the T20I series after losing both Tests.
