Melbourne Renegades Corey Rocchiccioli of the Melbournech] Renegades attempted to bowl a bouncer during Match No.54 of the Big Bash League (BBL) against the Adelaide Strikers, but it went horribly wrong. Alex Carey was batting on 21 at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne when the spinner attempted to catch the batter off guard.
However, it all went wrong, and he ended up bowling a wide. Carey attempted a switch hit after seeing the bouncer, but the ball was far away. The umpire had no hesitation in raising his arms and calling it a wide.
Fortunately for wicketkeeper Sam Harper, the bouncer lacked pace and he had no trouble collecting it. In addition, the square-leg umpire signalled one bouncer in the over.

Rocchiccioli had a good day at the office, finishing with figures of 4-0-36-1. He took the vital wicket of Adam Hose, who was looking dangerous after hitting a six.
The Renegades won by six wickets, becoming the third team, after the Perth Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers, to advance to the playoffs.
Aaron Finch was named Player of the Match after scoring an unbeaten 63 off 54 balls, including six fours and two sixes. The Renegades lost three early wickets, Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh, and Sam Harper, but a 69-run stand between Finch and Matthew Critchley put them back in contention.
Previously, leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed was their preferred bowler, finishing with figures of 4-0-17-3. The Renegades eventually took down the target with 10 balls to spare. The Renegades finished the league stage with 14 points and a -0.027 net run rate.
The Adelaide Strikers became the second team after the Melbourne Stars to knocked out from the race to the BBL after starting out their campaign on a high note.
