Team India cricketer Mohammed Shami had an emphatic outing during the second ODI against New Zealand on Saturday, January 21 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. He pulled off an excellent bowling performance in the match, as the visitors were bowled out for a paltry 108 runs. The pacer also took a sharp return catch to dismiss Daryl Mitchell in the first innings of the game.
The Kiwi batter came out to bat at number four, with New Zealand feeling at 8/2. The responsibility was upon him and Devon Conway to build a partnership. However, Mitchell walked back to the hut without troubling the scorers much. In the seventh over, Mohammed Shami bowled a good length delivery. Mitchell tried to play it to the on-side but closed the face of the bat. The ball took a thick inside edge and flew to the bowler. Shami in his follow-through completed a sharp catch. Daryl Mitchell was dismissed for just a solitary run off three deliveries.
