[WATCH]- Mohammed Siraj And Marnus Labuschagne Switch Bails In BGT 2024-25 3rd Test Rd

India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne shared a light-hearted moment when Siraj switched the bails at the batter’s end. This occurred on the second day of the ongoing Test at The Gabba in Brisbane.

Switching the bails has recently become a good omen for bowlers, a tactic first used by Stuart Broad. Over time, several bowlers have employed this during the match, often with wickets following soon after.

After the second ball of the 33rd over, Siraj walked over to the stumps and switched the bails. As he did so, Labuschagne tried to strike up a conversation, but Siraj ignored him and continued with his task. Soon after, Labuschagne returned the bails to their original position.

Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for 12 in the ongoing BGT 2024-25 third Test

Soon after the incident, Marnus Labuschagne was caught behind in the slips by Virat Kohli. He chased a full, wide delivery from Nitish Kumar Reddy but could only manage an edge to Kohli, who took a sharp catch. Labuschagne made 12 runs off 55 balls.

This was the third wicket the hosts lost in the morning session on Day 2, following the early dismissals of Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney. Labuschagne’s 37-run partnership with Steve Smith had begun to pose a growing threat to India, but the impressive Nitish struck at the perfect moment.

Some might argue that Siraj’s actions played a role, as the 30-year-old batter had appeared quite patient up until that point. With Labuschagne’s dismissal, Australia’s No. 3 spot was filled by the dangerous Travis Head, who is now batting alongside Steven Smith.

At the time of writing, Australia are 94/3 after 38 overs. The five-match Test series between India and Australia is currently tied at 1-1.
