Marnus Labuschagne’s stay at the crease came to an end when he was trapped lbw by Mohammed Siraj on Day 1 of the first Test between India and Australia in Perth on Friday, November 22. The right-handed batter managed just two runs off 52 balls, leaving Australia struggling at 47/6.
The dismissal occurred in the 21st over of Australia’s innings, with Siraj delivering a full-length ball onto Labuschagne’s pads as he attempted a shot to the leg side. The on-field umpire gave him out, but Labuschagne reviewed in desperation.
The replay confirmed the ball would have hit the leg stump. Virat Kohli, who had earlier dropped Labuschagne on a duck, looked particularly relieved. You can watch the video here:

This was Siraj’s second wicket of the innings, having earlier removed Mitchell Marsh with a brilliant catch from KL Rahul in the slip.
Bumrah and Siraj shine as India scores 150 in the first innings vs Australia
A clinical bowling performance by captain Jasprit Bumrah allowed India to recover after posting just 150 in their first innings against Australia. Bumrah dismissed debutant Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja, and Steve Smith for 10, 8, and a duck, respectively, giving India a strong start.
Debutant Harshit Rana then removed the dangerous Travis Head, leaving Australia struggling at 59/7, with Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc at the crease. Pat Cummins was the last to fall, caught behind by Rishabh Pant off Bumrah.
Batting first, India was bowled out for a modest 150 in under 50 overs. Nitish Reddy (41), Rishabh Pant (37), and KL Rahul (26) were the top scorers, while Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal fell for 5 and a duck.
India were also missing regular captain Rohit Sharma (on paternity leave) and Shubman Gill (injured) for the first Test. Josh Hazlewood was the top wicket-taker with 4/29, while Cummins, Starc, and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets each.
