[WATCH]- Mohammed Siraj Stuns The Crowd By Dismissing Usman Khawaja In The BGT 2024-25 4th Test

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj quieted the crowd by dismissing Australian opener Usman Khawaja with a brilliant delivery on Day 4 of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s (BGT) fourth Test at the MCG.

Siraj, who had been criticized for not providing sufficient support to Jasprit Bumrah throughout the series, consistently troubled Khawaja during his innings. He applied relentless pressure and, after a long battle, eventually ended Khawaja’s 65-ball stay at the crease.

The delivery was a full ball on off-stump, and Khawaja, with minimal foot movement, attempted to push at it, leaving a gap. The ball sneaked through to hit the stumps. Siraj, fired up by the wicket, silenced the MCG crowd with a finger to his lips.

After debutant Sam Konstas was dismissed early in the seventh over, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne defended stoutly against the Indian bowlers. They put on 23 runs for the second wicket before the left-handed Khawaja was out for 21 off 65 balls, including two boundaries.

Australia reached 53/2 at Lunch on Day 4, holding a 158-run lead in their second innings. India were bowled out for 369 in response to Australia’s first innings total of 474, giving the visitors a five-run advantage.
