Former India captain MS Dhoni personally drove Virat Kohli back to his hotel after the two met on Thursday, November 27. Their reunion came just a few days before the opening ODI of the three-match series against South Africa, set for November 30 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
Kohli had first returned to Mumbai on November 25 before flying to Ranchi on the next day. On Thursday evening, he visited Dhoni’s home. According to Hindustan Times, Rishabh Pant and Ruturaj Gaikwad were also present at the former captain’s residence.
A touching moment soon went viral on social media, showing MS Dhoni himself driving Kohli back to the team hotel after their meeting. You can watch the video here:

In terms of cricket, Kohli will be aiming for a solid performance in the upcoming series as India look to bounce back in the ODIs following a 2–0 defeat in the Test matches. The team will be captained by Karnataka batter KL Rahul, while Shubman Gill has been sidelined because of a neck injury.
Virat Kohli boasts an impressive ODI average of 192.00 in Ranchi
As Ranchi prepares to host the opening ODI of the India–South Africa series, Virat Kohli will be hoping to capitalise on his outstanding track record at the venue. At the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Kohli has played five ODIs and scored 384 runs across four innings, maintaining a phenomenal average of 192.00 and a strike rate of 109.40.
His performances there include two centuries and one half-century, with his highest score being an unbeaten 139. In the broader ODI landscape, the Delhi-born star is currently the second-highest run-getter in the format.
Since his debut in 2008, Kohli has appeared in 305 ODIs and accumulated 14,255 runs, the second-most in history, behind only Sachin Tendulkar’s 18,426. He holds an impressive career average of 57.71 with a strike rate of 93.26, and his tally features 75 fifties and 51 centuries.
