Chennai Super Kings pacer Mukesh Choudhary during a run-out attempt hit Virat Kohli at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Wednesday in IPL 2022 season. However, he was quick to apologize to the Royal Challengers Bangalore opening batter.

The Chennai Super Kings asked Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat first after winning the toss. Virat Kohli who opened the innings along with Faf Du Plessis looked in decent touch at the start of his innings. Mukesh Choudhary bowled the first over for the Chennai Super Kings.

On the last delivery of the first over, Mukesh bowled an inswinger, which Kohli came forward and drove back towards the bowler. The pacer, seeing Kohli out of his crease, immediately threw the ball at the striker’s end, aiming at the stumps. However, the ball hit Kohli, who was rushing back towards the crease. Mukesh put up his arm to apologize to Virat Kohli.

After a good start to the innings, Virat Kohli lost momentum in the middle. He struggled to score at a brisk rate. The right-hander was dismissed by Moeen Ali for thirty runs. In the tenth over, Kohli played the off-spinner across the line, as the ball sneaked past to disturb the furniture. Kohli was dismissed for 30 runs off 33 balls, at a strike rate of 90.91.

Chennai Super Kings lose two wickets after a good start

The Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa are back in the pavilion. The team made a good start scoring 51 runs in the powerplay. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad looked settled at the crease. However, Shahbaz Ahmed ended Gaikwad’s stay at the crease for 28 runs.

In the following over, Robin Uthappa too was sent back to the pavilion by Glenn Maxwell for one run. Following his wicket, Ambati Rayudu joined Devon Conway at the crease. The Chennai Super Kings are 72 runs with two wickets down in nine overs, needing 102 more in 11 overs.
