[WATCH]- Nitish Kumar Reddy Dismisses Marnus Labuschagne, Caught By Virat Kohli In BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Nitish Kumar Reddy claimed Marnus Labuschagne‘s key wicket on Day 2 (Sunday, December 15) of the third Test in Brisbane. Labuschagne was caught in the slip cordon for 12 runs off 55 balls, leaving Australia at 75/3.

The breakthrough came in the 34th over of Australia’s first innings. Reddy delivered a full-length ball wide outside off, prompting Labuschagne to drive. The ball edged to Virat Kohli at second slip, who took a sharp catch at shoulder height.

The dismissal followed a brief moment when Mohammed Siraj switched the bails, and Labuschagne replaced them. Labuschagne’s scores in the series so far are 2, 3, 64, and 12 (today). Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy secured his third wicket of the series.

“Just focus on batting” – David Warner on Marnus Labuschagne

Former Australia batter David Warner advised Marnus Labuschagne to focus on his batting rather than the ‘outside noise’ after Labuschagne responded sharply to his failure to score big in Adelaide. Speaking to West Australian (via Footboom 1), Warner said:

“For Marnus, just concentrate on batting. We know he loves eating cricket ball sandwiches. I want to pencil him in for a big hundred. We love him, but don’t worry about the noise, what we’re saying.”

Warner continued:

“We want to see Marnus score, we want to see a big hundred. It’s his home venue. He knows this ground better than anyone else. It’s more when he gets to 50, he wants to play that shot to the gully region.”

“I don’t think it’s a shot for him to want to play when he’s 50. You want to try and get on with it, but I sort of feel when he is dabbing outside off stump, that is not when he is at his best. He is still poking,” he added.
