[WATCH]- Pakistani-Origin Bilal Khan Shines On His Second Delivery In The Namibia vs Oman Match

Oman’s leading pacer Bilal Khan gave his team a strong start by dismissing Namibian opener Michael van Lingen in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 match. Opening the bowling for Oman, Bilal bowled Van Lingen out on his second delivery, lifting the team’s spirits after a poor batting performance.

After delivering a dot ball, Bilal bowled a good-length delivery around off stump that moved away from the batter. Van Lingen attempted a drive but inside-edged the ball onto the stumps, resulting in his dismissal for a two-ball duck and letting his team down.

After dismissing Van Lingen, Bilal celebrated ecstatically, spreading his arms in the air reminiscent of Pakistani legend Wasim Akram. Meanwhile, the seasoned Jan Frylinck joined Nikolaas Davin at the crease. As of now, the pair is working to stabilize Namibia’s innings with a steady partnership.

Earlier, Oman’s batting lineup collapsed against Namibia’s dominant all-round attack, managing only 109 runs. Khalid Kail top-scored with a determined 34, while Zeeshan Maqsood contributed a patient 22, making him the second-highest scorer.

How Oman Turned It Around in the Last Three Overs to Force a Super Over

Namibia seemed comfortably poised in their chase of 110 after their bowlers had restricted Oman in Bridgetown. They needed just 18 runs off 18 balls with seven wickets remaining.

In the 17th over, Smit’s edge off Mehran Khan’s delivery resulted in four byes, bypassing the keeper. Smit was then caught at long on on the third ball, trying for a big shot. Wiese faced two dot balls, leaving Namibia needing 14 runs off 12 balls.

In the 18th over by Bilal Khan, Frylinck managed a single and Wiese hit a six, but two yorkers resulted in no runs. Namibia needed five runs to win or four for a Super Over.

In the 19th over, Frylinck was dismissed after missing a clip on his pads, followed by Green’s LBW and a single by Kruger. Wiese’s straight drive led to a couple of runs, and a fumble by the keeper on the final delivery tied the game, leading to a Super Over.
