[WATCH]- Pakistan’s Coach Jason Gillespie Gathers Empty Bottles After A Practice Session For The Third Test Against England

Pakistan’s Test head coach, Jason Gillespie, collected empty bottles left by players after their training session for the upcoming third Test against England. With the series tied 1-1, the teams will compete for the series title in Rawalpindi starting October 24.

The hosts faced a humiliating innings and 47-run loss in the first Test at Multan but recovered to win the second Test at the same venue by 152 runs. Additionally, Gillespie not only gathered the discarded bottles but also personally placed them in the recycling bin.

Gillespie became Pakistan’s Test head coach in April after the team faced a 0-3 loss against Australia earlier in the year. Unfortunately, the situation worsened as they were whitewashed by Bangladesh in a two-Test series during his first assignment.

With a sixth consecutive Test defeat overall and a third since his appointment, pressure was building on both him and the players. However, on a turning pitch, the spin pair of Sajid Khan and Noman Ali took all 20 wickets, helping the team finally end their losing streak.

Pakistan’s victory in the second Test against England marked their first home win since 2021

Until last week’s second Test victory over England in Multan, Pakistan had struggled at home in Tests for the past three years. Their last home win was a 2-0 triumph over South Africa at the start of 2021. Since then, they faced series defeats against Australia, England, and Bangladesh, and drew with New Zealand.

From the end of the 2021 South Africa series to the first England Test, Pakistan lost seven out of 11 home Tests, with the remaining four ending in draws. Their most recent Test series win was in July last year when they defeated Sri Lanka 2-0.
