Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya was spotted sharing a light-hearted chat with his brother Krunal Pandya, who now plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The moment occurred as Hardik stepped onto the field to bat during the IPL 2025 match on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium.
A video capturing their cheerful exchange quickly made rounds on social media, standing out in an otherwise intense game. Both star all-rounders have previously played together for Mumbai Indians, contributing to their title wins in 2017, 2019, and 2020.
However, Krunal was not retained by the team ahead of the 2022 season. He later joined Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and is currently part of the RCB squad. Watch the moment unfold as the MI skipper strides out to bat in the 12th over:

Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match in the IPL 2025 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. He also delivered key breakthroughs for RCB in the match against Mumbai Indians, including the dismissal of Will Jacks, who mistimed a bouncer and was caught by Virat Kohli at deep backward square.
Hardik Pandya grabs two wickets, but Mumbai Indians face a massive chase
Coming off a five-wicket performance against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana International Stadium, Hardik Pandya added two more scalps to his name against the Royal Challengers. He removed Virat Kohli (67) and Liam Livingstone, but ended up giving away 45 runs in his four-over spell.
Kohli’s knock of 67, combined with a blistering 64 off 32 balls from RCB captain Rajat Patidar, helped set a challenging target of 222. Although Mumbai Indians stumbled early with three wickets down within the first 10 overs, Tilak Varma (56) and Hardik Pandya (42) kept the chase alive for a while. Still, their dismissals sealed Mumbai’s fate.
In the end, the Royal Challengers secured a 12-run win, marking their third triumph in four games, while Mumbai slumped to their fourth loss in five outings.
